Power maximization in standalone photovoltaic system: an adaptive PSO approach

A control strategy for power maximization which is an important mechanism to extract maximum under changing environmental conditions using Adaptive Particle Swarm Optimization (APSO) proposed in this paper. An Inertia Weighting Factor (AIWF) utilized the velocity update equation of traditional PSO improvement speed convergence and precision tracking Maximum Power Point (MPP) standalone Photovoltaic system. Adaptation weights based on success rate particles toward extraction most promising feature AIWF. The inertia weight kept constant complete duration optimization process. MPPT PV system poses a dynamic problem APSO approach paves way not only track MPP uniform irradiation conditions, but also non-uniform conditions. Simulations are done MATLAB/Simulink environment verify effectiveness technique comparison with existing technique. With change temperature, found provide better results terms efficiency. Hardware utilizing dSPACE DS1104 controller board developed laboratory method real time.
